Not gonna check the actual numbers but...
Pretty sure I invited or at least emailed about, oh, 40 people, regarding this year's Siren Music Fest at Coney Island and I just wanted to mention that those who responded were indeed in the minority, an extreme minority. I am also happy to note that of my in town amigos here who had no travelling to do to join me I am going to attend this great day on the beach with exactly none of them. Yes, there could be no better time in the history of my life to become a premed student, with the likes of whom I could find no common ground as an undergrad in Virginia some years back, whose inability or unwillingness to join any number of adventures with me seemed only a lack of comprehension of joie de vivre, not a sense of adherence to responsibility, or eye towards the future. Indeed, I am so very happy that there is no one waiting around or calling me to try and derail my studies; I really face no pressure whatsoever to be well rounded or any less serious. Left to my own, I suspect I have always had this inclination, and it will at long last come to sweet fruition. I shall join the bitterer of two types of men, resigned to getting for themselves, out of personal frustration over waiting to receive the bounty of beauty and friendship I deserve, out of the need to forget dreams and create new ones, an end to a suffering comprised of yearning and jealousy. I guess I just wanted to thank my lucky stars that I have no friends and that I could never in all of my life have cared less. New York Cares! (Long live wheat, liquor, and drugs, the means to get by!) below is the actual email that went out for kicks:
subject: Siren Music Fest 2005
villagevoice.com - check it out, beers, raw shellfish and Nathan's, a rickety old roller coaster, a freak show, the batting cages, mango on a stick, the ocean, and a crapload of outdoor music...
Consider joining me this year, would ya?

YOU DIDN'T INVITE ME!!!! Or perhaps you knew that due to my nonstop work travel I was probably unable to get to NYC. We are on the same wavelength like that. Glad you are being productive :).
